Speaking of viruses…Have you recently caught the kitesurfing virus during your summer holidays? It’s addictive, isn’t it? Are you waiting for your next summer vacation to start again? Why?! why not continue your learning process right here in Denia with kite45 during the winter months? There are many advantages to visiting Denia during autumn and winter, not just for kitesurfing!

First and probably the most important, yes… there is still wind to kitesurf in Denia! In fact, the wind tends to be stronger than what we experience during the summer! Winds during the winter months tend to come from the north, with speeds consistently above 20 knts! Winds tend to start earlier and last longer! Still not convinced?

Do you remember the area to learn kitesurfing this summer? Packed with kites, a mix of beginners, new kiters and advanced riders? The stress of getting in the water and walking away? Well, here’s yet another reason to kitesurf in Denia with Kite45°… The beach is empty, allowing you to kite independently or continue to gain confidence with one of our experienced instructors. No stress, no kitesurf channel, instead of a big empty beach a few meters from the kitesurf school.

I know what you’re thinking now… “but won’t it be too cold for kitesurfing in winter?!” Well, to answer your question, simply… no! You won’t be going in the water in just your shorts or bikini and harness… however, you won’t need the world’s thickest wetsuit either. A maximum 4/3mm wetsuit is required during the winter months, and this might seem unnecessary even until November, with many ‘shorty’ type wetsuits seen during this month!

Ok, kitesurfing aside.. why come to Denia during the winter? Well, if you didn’t notice during your trip this summer, Denia is famous for its gastronomic scene. Refuel after your kite sessions in some of the best restaurants in Spain.

Food not your stage? Fear not, Denia offers incredible mountain or coastal routes to explore on foot, by bike or by car! Or better yet, take the time to visit the Marina and book a whale and dolphin watching tour!

Still not convinced? Don’t forget that if you want a bit of urban life on your holiday, Denia is ideally located just over an hour from both central Valencia and Alicante!

Whether you want to practice pure kitesurfing and progress further in your level, or want more from your winter holidays, Denia has a lot to offer, even during these colder months!
